Kathy.
I finally found some time to do some bead stitching!!!
Here is a photo of Task 1a & 1b:
I decided to make a beetle bug "critter" based on the limited selection of beads I had available in my stash at home.
Here is Task 1c:
I made a circle shape (but a bit bigger than your template Kathy) because I had larger buttons and beads on hand. I am delighted with the way the finished crescent turned out. I decided not to make this shape into an ornament because I think the colors and shape will look really good on a CQ block I have recently started (see photo below):
It was fun to learn how to create my own unique-in-all-the-world cluster of beads!
Now on to Task 2...

The little beetle bug could also be a fat little bumble bee! LOVE your selections of buttons and beads. The lime green and purple just dance together so nicely and totally agree that it would work on a CQ block. After sewing the circle into place...silk ribbon flowers and leaves along the outside to hide the edge would be great I'm thinking...leaving a nice edge of white showing so that the moon shape is not lost among the flowers. Just a wonderful beading shape! Hugs, Kathy
